Between 2007 and 2010 Sam Marsh created artwork under the Title ‘We All Want The Swamp!’. These artworks deal with his primary concern, painting.
From mid 2010, a new series of works under the working Title 'Theme Paintings' is being created which focus on following randomly selected topics or ideas through to a visual end regardless of emotional attachment.
The artwork often evokes a humourous responce at first but then takes on a deeper level of sophistication that deals with issues within painting such as how paintings are made, exploring character and the visual impact of collage.
Paintings 2007-10 - 'We All Want The Swamp!' - Marsh's reaction to the painting process, his imagination and mass culture.
'Paperworks' - Drawings and collage often created in series on A4. Descovery made during the drawing process plays a vital part to inform the painting process.
'Computer Compositions' - An exploration into image making, using photo edditing programs such as Paint and Photoshop. Visual problem solving explored here directly informs the paintings process, in particular the collage elements.
'Book' - 'We All Want The Swamp!' A collection of drawings, collages and computer compositions that have been worked together to form a book.
'Collaboration' - Painting and drawing in collaboration with Alexander Blake.
'Street Work' - Artwork printed black and white on large Dayglow paper, pasted up around cultural cities of the world.
